# Holding Reward **Holding Reward has been designed to give a strong incentive to hold your nounish NFTs.** The Holding Reward covers 40% of the total NOGS attached to an NFT and it will be unlocked over a 1 year period. NFTs that were minted over a year ago will automatically unlock the entire Holding Reward. Holding Reward will start to generate NOGS right after the NFT is minted. {% hint style="info" %} **Example:** You won the auction for a beautiful Lil cherry (congrats, you are amazing!) This Lil has a total of 100.000 NOGS attached to it. In this case, the Holding Reward is 40.000 NOGS. For a year, your Lil will continue to farm new NOGS until it gets to 40.000. {% endhint %}
